I'm Back!

With Christmas and New Year + Moving House in the first half of January, I've had little time to dedicate to mash-ups but I'm back now and working on a number of ideas for 2008. Watch this Space!

Because of the change of music policy at Tiger Tiger in Croydon (to pop/party pap!) I'm moving to On Anon on Friday Nights where I will be playing and eclectic mix of popular RandB and Mash-Ups! An interesting and unique show.

If your in the centre of town (Piccadilly, London) on a Friday or Saturday Night, Please join me, it will be good to see you!

Do You Believe in You
v2 122bpm 4:53

I've wanted to do a Kylie track for ages and it's good to see the lady back so I figured now was a good time! I think that 'I Believe in You' is a really classy track so it was an obvious choice for me. Cher just popped into my head (where does an original thought come from? The title might of had something to do with it!) and I think they pair up nicely(?) I was going to premiere the track at Mashed but I just couldn't sit on it! Looks like the making of a Gay anthem to me (?)

Another one of my early mash-ups which I made using the original tracks as I had very few acapella's at the time. The Mash always worked well but it was never quite right. Having obtained the ODB acapella, it was time for a remake. Here's the result, I hope that you like it!

v5 (2007) 113bpm 4:54

This was originally one of my first mash-ups. Back in the day I used to play them back to back so they became an obvious choice for a mash! However, when I originally made it I had very few acapellas and used the original tracks for the mash-up! It worked quite well but I have now obtained the Montel Jordan acapella and have re-made it!
I have still left some of the original Montel Jordan track in there for the piano and it does make the overall effect a little more dramatic!

However, Bobby chose Madonna as the bed with NF vocals and I chose Nelly Furtado with Madge vocals, strange but true!
Without trying to sound sycophantic, I think Bobby's version is brilliant and really dramatic, check out www.bobbymartini.co.uk to get his version.

Dave Flett vs. Kanye West

Heavens Gold Gate
v1 92pm 4:24.
Dave Flett, ex of Manfred Man and Thin Lizzy has recently produced some new material. Sadly the Record companies seem to think that the sound is too dated. Through a mutual friend I suggested trying to update the production for modern ears. He agreed which led me to make this mash-up. I've added a new drum loop and the fabulous Kanye to the cauldron. Dave loves the sound. Lets hope the PR guys will give it another listen!!

I made this track in 2004. I used to play these tracks back to back so I figured it was time for a proper mash! Here it is for the first time as a download.

Give it Up if you Lose Your Breath.
v7 120bpm 3:44
I made this track back in Summer 2005. I know that you shouldn't mess with a classic like this but I wanted to bring it to a new audience. And I actually think it works quite well. Here it is for the first time as a download. I hope you like it!
